Clever Kids

Here are the ANZAC Day photos as promised.  The students did a fantastic job. I've included their comments as they are hard to read on photos. Welcome back! We have had a busy start to term 2 in Prep A. We've started to study Joy Cowley books, looking specifically at rhyme. The preps had great fun reading the book 'Smarty Pants'.  We turned ourselves into Smarty Pants, as you can see from the photos below. Then we studied ANZAC Day. We read two great books, 'Grandpa marches on ANZAC Day' and 'Lest We Forget'. The books really helped us learn about the ANZAC soldiers. We thought about why need to do remember the ANZACs and did some fabulous art work. Look for it on the Blog soon!

On the last day of term we had the Super Egg competition. Everyone was very excited to wear whatever we wanted, and we had our eggs decorated and ready to go.  After assembly we took our eggs outside ready for the heats.  Here is our race: We were very excited, and Eliza won our heat! That meant that she got to go into the semi final to see who raced against Super Egg in the final.  Eliza didn't win this race, but her big sister did! It was a fabulous and exciting way to end our first term in prep!

We spent a fun morning digging for 'treasure' in frozen bicarb, glitter and water blocks. We added vinegar to the blocks and used a spoon to dig for the hidden gems inside.  We had so much fun.  Afterwards we wrote stories about digging for treasure.

WELCOME TO THE PREP A BLOG!  HERE YOU WILL SEE MANY OF OUR LEARNING TASKS AND GET A GLIMPSE INTO WHAT WE DO AT SCHOOL.  Here is our first day in Prep A.  We had such a great day getting to know each other. Don't you love our Prep crowns? Last week in maths we studied 2D shapes.  One of our fun activities was making shape pizzas. We had to cut out the shapes and stick them onto our pizzas, then say how many of each shape was on our pizza. We really enjoyed this activity!
